Dear SOA Band families –
Normally, around this time we would be sending out messages regarding not only bandcamp, but also registration and band fees. Your band boosters understand that this is not a normal year. There is still much left unknown about what school, let alone band, is going to look like this upcoming year.
Band fees are a necessary part of our band program. Band fees go toward administrative costs, instrument repairs and replacements, new sheet music, as well as opportunities for our talented students to work with professional musicians throughout the year. If the remote learning continues, Mr. Turner may also be looking at some possible online sessions with Clinicians as well as potential Smart Music programs. Band fees will make all of this and more possible.
The SOA band boosters know that there are many families who are struggling right now, and that the added stress of band fees is just one more thing to worry about. We understand and want to make paying band fees as easy as possible for our families. The annual band fee will remain the same for each band member for this school year as in previous years at $325, however this year we are putting into place various payment plans for all families to utilize. Our goal is to help our families while still providing our stellar band program with all the necessary pieces to keep it at the same level of excellence.
Families are free to choose from any of the following payment options:
Option 1 – Paid in full:
$300 – Paid in full by September 7th
as in previous years, this paid in full option includes a discount of $25 for the year if paid prior to the scheduled start of school
Option 2 – Pay per semester:
$162.50 – Paid by September 11th
$162.50 – Paid by January 4th
Option 3 – Monthly pay per semester:
$50 – Paid by September 11th
$50 – Paid by October 8th
$62.50 – Paid by November 9th
$50 – Paid by January 4th
$50 – Paid by February 8th
$62.50 – Paid by March 8th
*The annual $100 CCSD/SOA Instrument Usage Fee for all percussionists and ANY brass/woodwind students using a CCSD/SOA instrument will be evaluated and determined at a later time based on the progression of the instrument usage.
If a waiver is requested, please fill out the Band Fee Waiver form and submit the form no later than September 1st for consideration by the executive board to Adina Garner, the Booster President, at firstname.lastname@example.org or to Lori Fox, the Booster Treasurer at email@example.com.

Creating a CHARMS account.
If you have not signed into CHARMS before and wish to use it to pay for band fees please follow the instructions below:
1) Visit www.charmsoffice.com and select Login Parents/Students/Members (upper right corner).
2) Use the School Code: SOABands (click ‘Enter Parent Area’)
3) In the Parent/Student Area enter the Student Password.
If this is your first time using Charms, this password is usually your student’s ID #. The number will usually start with 2600100 for students who went to another CCSD school before enrolling at SOA or will be a 6 digit number if your student transferred to SOA from a private school or some other school outside of CCSD
However, for the 2021 9th Graders, this number will be your Guardians Day Phone Number because your information did not transfer from middle school Charms and your information was added manually and ID#’s were not available.
For 2020-21 students new to SOA, please contact Terance Wood via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for your password ID # if you can’t log in with your ID# that you know.
4) Once you enter the correct password, you will be prompted to change your password to something you will remember.
