Week of February 11, 2019
There is a lot going on during this short week at school. There is something for each grade level and
each ensemble in this weekly NFTBR.
Message from Mr. Kerr: I am having no after school rehearsals this week, as I have not actually worked with
every ensemble, and I have to hear and see where they are at this point. I do plan on having after school
rehearsals in the near future. They will be on the days listed on the calendar.
Message from Leah King to the seniors that are participating in Senior Thesis on February 24:
PLEASE NOTE your biographies and music information for the program are due to Leah King,
firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of the school day on Thursday, February 14, so the programs can be
ordered from the print shop. If information is not received by Thursday, it will not be included in the program.
If you are wanting to travel to Washington, DC on May 2 -5, 2019, the Letter of Intent plus $250.00 is due by the
end of the school day on Thursday, February 14 so that we can finalize the plans for the itinerary. Please email
email@example.com if you have any questions or now committing to travel in May.
Band students: If you turned in Krispy Kreme donut orders or certificate orders, make sure you come to the band
room on Thursday Feb. 14 after 11 a.m. to pick up the pre-ordered donuts and certificates. All pre-ordered
donuts/certificates must be picked up by no later than 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Parents: We need a few volunteers on Thursday with the Krispy Kreme in-school donut sales. Click the link to

The yearbook staff has reached out to us because they are in desperate need of band photos for this year’s
yearbook. They are looking for photos of JJ&W, band trips, band class, festivals…anything that shows the HS
band in action. If you have any photos, please forward them to Mrs. Fitz at,
The Oversight Board is currently seeking nominations for the following board positions for the upcoming 2019-
2020 school year. Each office is a one-year term, and the Oversight Board meets twice each school year. Once
in the Fall and once in the Spring.
Nominations will be open until March 15th.Nominations will be open to any High School Band Parent.
President: he/she shall preside over the Board meetings. He/she shall impartially enforce the By-Laws and
assure that all officers and committees perform their duties. He/she shall work with the Band Directors in
planning and directing activities of the Charleston County School of the Arts Band Boosters. He/she shall ensure
that all constituent groups across in both band programs are adequately represented on the Executive Board. In
matters of a tie on a voting matter, the President shall break the tie with his/her executive decision.
Treasurer: he/she shall keep a full and accurate record of all accounts and funds accrued by the organization
and ensure the deposit of all moneys into the official booster organization. The Treasurer shall make regular
reports at each meeting of the organization. The Treasurer will maintain bank statements, a record of payment of
all fees, and will also have signing authority on for financial transactions.
Secretary: he/she shall keep a full and accurate account of all proceedings of the general Board meetings and
make them available to all members. The Secretary shall conduct all correspondence for the organization and
give notice of all meetings. The Secretary shall serve and assist the Treasurer and the President.
