PULLOUT DURING 4TH BLOCK ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7TH IN PREPARATION FOR THE WINTER CONCERT.
WINTER CONCERT IS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7TH AT 6:30PM IN THE RMMT. STUDENTS STAY AFTERSCHOOL FOR
A REHEARSAL/DINNER AS THEY DID FOR THE FALL CONCERT.
SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
2:15-4:30pm – DRESS REHEARSAL IN RMMT
4:30-5:30pm – DINNER BREAK IN CAFETERIA. DINNER WILL BE PROVIDED!
5:30pm – 6:15pm – CHANGE INTO CONCERT ATTIRE AND TRANSITION TO RMMT
6:15pm – HOUSE OPENS/JAZZ ENSEMBLE PLAYS PRE-CONCERT MUSIC ONSTAGE AS AUDIENCE ENTERS
TRIP INFORMATION HAS BEEN FINALIZED AND APPROVED BY ADMIN. WE ARE NOW WAITING FOR DISTRICT
APPROVAL. WE WILL BE SENDING OUT INFO ABOUT THE TRIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE TRIP WILL NOW BE
THE WEEKEND OF MAY 2nd-5th, 2019 AND WILL BE OPEN TO ALL 9th-12th GRADE BAND MAJORS.
REGION AUDITION HELP SESSION SIGNUPS ARE POSTED ON SIGNUP GENIUS (LINK IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM!)
STUDENTS SHOULD BE LISTENING TO THE PROFESSIONAL ALL-STATE SOLO RECORDINGS… LINK IS
AVAILABLE ON THE HOMEPAGE OF WWW.BANDLINK.ORG AND POSTED IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM.
STUDENTS SHOULD BE PRACTICING ALL-STATE AUDITION REQUIREMENTS AND WINTER CONCERT MUSIC ON
A REGULAR BASIS.
UPCOMING IMPORTANT EVENTS
December 7th – Pullout for ALL band students during 4B – Winter Concert Dress Rehearsal in RMMT
December 7th – Afterschool Rehearsal/Winter Concert (Dinner will be provided)
December 10th-14th – Region Band Audition Help Sessions Afterschool (Signups will be posted at the beginning of
December 12th – All-State Clarinet Masterclass with Joseph Eller (USC Professor of Clarinet) from 5:00-7:00pm. EXTRA
CREDIT for Clarinetists/Bass Clarinetists.
December 14th – Convocation Performance During School
December 18th – All-State Horn Masterclass with Brandon Nicholas (CSO Principal Hornist) during LUNCH. This is for a
grade for all horn players.
December 18th – Holiday Spectacular Rehearsal at Gaillard for Symphony Winds.
December 19th-21st – SMITH TO MIDWEST CLINIC IN CHICAGO (Sub will be present)
Other Important News
***Friday night there will be a Holiday Dessert Table in the foyer after the Concert***
- 9th and 10th grades- Please bring cookies or holiday goodies that can be eaten without a plate
and fork. We will provide cocktail napkins.
- 11th and 12th grades- Please bring a 12 pack or greater of water.
We have a delivery date for the fruit! The date is Monday, December 10 and it will have to be picked
up from school that day. Stay posted for the details to the times of fruit pick and if any volunteers will
be needed to off load the fruit boxes.
In the lobby of the Rose Maree Myers Theater the HS Band Boosters will be raffling off 5 Magnolia
Wreaths. They will be on display at the raffle table and we will be selling raffle tickets in the lobby
before the concert. $10 for one ticket or $20 for 3 tickets. Must be present at intermission to win.
